Can you hear him?

Every picture I’ve shown of Mr. Cowboy has been of him facing away, looking wistfully, peacefully, out of my quaint and picturesque back door. He looks so calm. So pensive. An almost ethereal being. While we can all dream of world where Cowboy sits pretty and inspires us to reflect on the beauty of the animal world and her creatures, this cannot be farther from the truth.
This 15 pound scream machine is built like a brick shit house. He howls and whines and screams and should try out for the Met Opera’s open vocalist position listed as “Woman Dying Offstage”. If you want a dog that always makes noise. This is the dog for you. He is only satiated when he is pulling me behind him on my bicycle like a mushing husky. And at that point his screaming is traded for the concerned shouting of a few well-meaning passersby. “Don’t run that dog too hard!!” Sir. This dog is running me, and he is only getting stronger. Please see the below figure:

Mr. Cowboy is a great dogs dog. He runs, and screams, and isn’t particularly obedient, but definitely makes his own decisions and as a person with this capability, I can respect that. He is happy-go-lucky, bold and brave, and hits his head on the coffee table when he gets too excited too close to the couch. His personality is huge even if his body is not. And what he lacks in size he makes up for in heart, and in sheer volume. Cowboy is also a great listener, loves live piano, and will sniff your eyes when you cry. I love him. And I think he’s neat. I hope he feels the same about me too. If anything, it is so special to have a small friend who shares my enthusiasm for life, and tells everyone about it 🐾
